Taxes and Fees

None of the incumbents like to take about taxes and fees and the same time.  Both major parties play a shell game.  One year they will not raise taxes, but will raise fees.  The next year they will raise taxes but not raise fees.   The fees and excise taxes affect groups that are not a majority at the polls, but when you add it up, everyone gets their fees increased.

So are they trying to save the budget? No! They are trying to save patronage jobs.  Notice the the expensive war on drugs has been increased.   Laws generate jobs in enforcement. The more laws, the more the politicians benefit.

How much should you pay for a driver’s license?

How much should you pay for an automobile registration?

How much should you pay to record a marriage?

I would end the expensive War on Drugs.  ( see other pages ).  Since I would abolish many laws without victims, money could be saved through downsizing the state bureaucracy.

Fees should be kept to an absolute minimum.  $2 is reasonable to record a marriage or gun permit. Licenses and registrations have become tool to be used to steal from people. There is no reason why the most expensive ones used  by most people should exceed $5
