I am Robert Underwood, Candidate for City Council in Springfield, Ward 2, and former Libertarian Candidate for United States Senate.

I guess we were too happy that the referendum to decriminalize possession of small amounts of Marijuana passed. The problem is we shunned “partisan Politics.”

The result:

Springfield has increased the fine from $100 to $300. Other towns will follow suit. The fines will be increased. People will be jailed for contempt of court when they cannot pay the fines. They will pay probation fees. They will pay for blood tests. In short they will pay for the corrupt patronage law enforcement and judicial system occupied by parasites on the economy. The ink is not dry on the law and it has been reversed.

How did this happen?

It happened because the same voters who voted “yes” on the referendum then allowed the Republicans and Democrats to have a free ride back to state house and city hall. The pro-marijuana lobby does not like Political Parties nor “partisan politics.” But appointments are made along party lines. Partisan politics is how the marijuana laws were made, and partisan politics will have to be the way they are repealed.

There is only one party who ran a candidate for US Senate who is against Marijuana laws. There is only one party who ran a candidate for the State House of Representatives who is against marijuana laws. There is only one Party who is running a candidate for City Council who is against marijuana laws, the Libertarian Party.

We need to replace City Councils and the state legislature. That means running for office as a Libertarian or helping some one who is. That means signing the nomination form to get them on the ballot and helping them campaign.

You need to visit the Libertarian Party Table here and get involved in partisan politics. As we have seen just voting “yes” is not enough.
